Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie

Perfect for Halloween weekend, this Pumpkin Pie smoothie is a winner for the whole family.



Pumpkin is one of the best sources of alpha-carotene, an immune boosting antioxidant. Bananas are a good source of potassium and, protein powder will help you feel full for longer and keep blood sugar levels stable - great if you're trying to lose weight, balance hormones or manage menopause.


Ingredients


Use organic ingredients wherever possible.


2 cups unsweetened Almond Milk

1 cup mashed, pre-cooked Pumpkin 2 Bananas (frozen) 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice 1/2 cup Protein Powder


Directions

- Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.

- Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Notes

No Pumpkin Pie Spice? - Make your own with 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground Nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon All Spice .

Toppings

Sprinkle with extra cinnamon or pumpkin spice if desired, and top with raw pumpkin seeds if you like some crunch.

Have it Warm

To serve this warm, whisk together the almond milk, pureed pumpkin, and vanilla in a small sauce pan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer before adding it to the blender with the remaining ingredients.
